Arts Council taking applications for grants

The Arts Council of Wayne County is taking applications for North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots Arts Program subgrants through Aug. 1.
Eligible organizations must promote and develop diverse cultural arts programming in Wayne County. Priority is given to qualified arts organizations such as theaters, galleries, choral societies and festivals; arts in education proigrams conducted by qualified artists; and other community organizations that provide arts programs in the county, said Sarah Merritt, Arts Council director.
Projects must be done between Oct. 1 and May 30, 2013.
Forms and guidelines are available at the Arts Council website at www.artsinwayne.org. They may also be picked up at the Arts Council office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Arts Council of Wayne County is hosting a grassroots arts program grant workshop June 18 at 5:30 p.m. to help applicants prepare for the grant.
