Gunman fires at car

The Goldsboro police are investigating an incident of shots fired into an occupied vehicle that took place Saturday about 10:45 p.m. in the 200 block of Seymour Drive.

The two men inside the 2000 Acura were not injured during the shooting.

One of the men, Johnathan Newkirk, reported the incident.

B&E and larcenies

*Edna Forte reported the break-in of a 2000 Toyota Camry at her home in the 700 block of South Audubon Avenue that occurred Friday or Saturday. During the incident, $2,300 of damage was caused to the vehicle, as the suspect(s) put sugar in the fuel tank, cut wiring and scratched the paint. The vehicle's radio, air conditioner controls and factory wheel covers were also removed.

*Dennis Ross reported the theft of $7,500 of copper wiring from the wall and crawl space of a home in the 100 block of Wade Mill Road that occurred Thursday or Friday. The home is currently under construction.

*Karee Smith reported the larceny of a 2005 dirt bike, valued at $800, from an unsecured garage at his property in the 1100 block of LaGrange Road in LaGrange that occurred Friday or Saturday.

*Derrick Olunkwa reported the theft of an $800 Gator 50-cc scooter that was taken from the yard of his home in the 100 block of North Running Deer Circle in Dudley that occurred Sunday.

*Raquel Pineda reported a $9,000 2003 Chevrolet truck was taken from her home in the 200 block of Zion Church Road in Mount Olive. The vehicle was taken Sunday night.

*Michael Gregory reported the theft of more than $1,300 of property during the break-in of three storage sheds. The stolen property included a pressure washer, generator, tiller, yard trimmer, chain saw, television and various tools. The incident occurred Friday or Saturday in the 700 block of East Walnut Street.

*Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet employee Cheong Lay reported that a woman with five children dined at the restaurant, located at 403 N. Berkeley Blvd., Friday at approximately 10:30 p.m. and left without paying. Lay confronted the woman in the parking lot, but she refused to come back to the restaurant and pay for the six meals, which were valued at $53.25.
