Man shot from vehicle; no charges pressed

Richard Sutton of South Slocumb Street told police that while walking along the street on the 200 block of Rosewood Avenue at 9:40 p.m. On April 25, a dark-colored SUV pulled up and stopped.

Sutton, 28, said an unknown light-skinned black male rolled down the rear passenger window, got his attention and asked him for a cigarette.

He then said the man opened the door, revealing he had a dark-colored revolver handgun pointed at him.

Sutton ran and heard a gunshot, then noticed later that he had been shot in his left leg. When police and EMS responded, he was taken to Wayne Memorial to be treated.

The report indicated that the victim did not wish to press charges and the case was considered closed or cleared.
