Man shot in city
Goldsboro police are investigating the shooting of a man that took place about 12:10 p.m. Tuesday.
Ormond Cobb reported he was shot while walking in the 1100 block of Olivia Lane by an unknown man who exited a vehicle and began to fire.
He told police he did not know why the man would have wanted to shoot him. He also signed a non-prosecution form.
Cobb was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital for injuries, police said.
B&Es and larcenies
*Jessie Lane reported the theft of her 1989 Volvo, valued at $1,500, from the Spence Avenue Walmart parking lot Tuesday afternoon while he was working at the retailer. Lane told authorities he may have left the car's keys in the ignition and a back window cracked.
*Suretha William reported the theft of her 1995 Ford Escort, valued at $1,500, while it was parked in front of her home in the 100 block of Water Street between Monday and Tuesday.
*Franklin Waters reported a break-in at his property in the 300 block of Capps Bridge Road that took place between March 25 and March 26. During the break-in a 30.06 rifle, valued at $550, was stolen.
