Goldsboro police investigated these reports:

*A black male and black female reportedly exited Walmart on Spence Avenue Friday evening without paying for several items, including $100 worth of cosmetics, two throw pillows and a container of bleach. They left in a vehicle.

*Jacquelyn Pickett Leverette, 50, reported the theft of an unknown quantity of personal checks taken from her residence Feb. 27. She filed the report after learning that some checks had been forged and cashed.

*Sade Jones, 25, Randall Lane, reported a side door to the residence had been forced open and among items taken were an Xbox and assorted games worth $2,700 plus $200 in cash.

*Michael Todd Layton, 20, of South Harding Drive, reported the theft of $2,350 worth of items from his home, including a 12-gauge shotgun, 223 caliber semi-automatic rifle, acoustic guitar, laptop and gaming system.

*Benjamin Kyle Saylors, 33, of East Mulberry Street, said several items were removed from his unlocked vehicle, including a DVD player, iPod, GPS, calculator, hard drive and radar detector. Estimated value of the items was $1,390.

*Charles Merritt told police while conducting an audit of M&M Supply on Industry Court, he found a 33-year-old female bookkeeper had written checks to herself. The exact amount was unknown as he had only audited up to November 2011.
