Harrison lectures set at MOC

MOUNT OLIVE -- Plans have been made for the 22nd annual Vivian B. Harrison Memorial Lecture to be held Rodgers Chapel on the campus of Mount Olive College.
The first lecture will be held on, Monday March 26 at 7 p.m.
The second lecture, held on Tuesday, March 27 at 9 a., will be followed by an 11 a.m. worship service.
The guest speaker will be Dr. Ellen Ott Marshall.
Marshall is an associate professor of Christian Ethics and Conflict Transformation at Candler School of Theology at Emory University.
She focuses on contemporary Christian ethics, and is particularly interested in issues of violence and peacemaking, ethical questions in literature and film, and the dynamic relationship between faith, history and ethics. The purpose of the event is to provide a medium for continuing education for the ministers and laypersons of North Carolina.

Mrs. Harrison was a graduate of Mount Olive College and Barton College, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. She taught public school in North Carolina for 17 years before retiring in 1986 due to illness.
The lecture is free and the public is invited.
