Attempted robbery at gas station
A man wearing a pair of dark-colored boxer shorts over his head to hide his identity attempted to rob Kangaroo Express gas station, located at 1601 E. Ash St., about 8:15 a.m. Saturday, reported store employee Loretta Colie.
The man entered the store and put one of his hands under his shirt and pointed to the cash register with his other hand while telling the clerk to, "Put everything in the bag."
The clerk refused, despite the would-be burglar's several verbal demands to hand over the contents of the register.
The suspect then left the store on foot empty handed.
