Investigations

Goldsboro and Wayne County law enforcement officers are investigating these reports:

*Latonia Thomas reported a break-in at her home in the 500 block of Rollingwood Drive in Dudley that occurred Tuesday. It appears entry was made through a rear door. The stolen items included a .44 magnum Ruger handgun, taken from a closet, a laptop, two video game consoles, a bottle of gin and Capri Sun drinks, taken from the refrigerator. The total value of the stolen property was more than $1,800.

*Paula Pharo reported the theft of a Remington 270 rifle, 42 -inch TV and bag of tools from her home in the 5800 block of N.C. 55 East in Seven Springs that took place Tuesday. She said her home was left unsecured. The value the stolen goods was more than $700.

*Kim Willoughby reported the theft of a .22 black and white handgun from Jarman's Seafood, located at 112 N. John St. The firearm was taken from the business between Feb. 21 and Feb. 22. The handgun has a reported value of $200.

*Jeff Daly, of The Daly Company Inc., reported the theft of building materials that were taken from a gated warehouse in the 100 block of Millers Chapel Road between Feb. 7 and Tuesday. The stolen items included $10,000 of electric wire; $5,000 of electric fixtures; $5,000 of drop ceiling material; a $6,000 boat; a $1,200 riding mower; and a $300 riding mower.

*Sherry Shelby reported the larceny of a $3,500 air conditioner from a home in the 500 block of Carla-Ann Drive that occurred between Dec. 15 and Dec. 31. Ms. Shelby also reported the theft of $100 of copper piping from a home in the 200 block of North Pineview Avenue that occurred between Jan. 21 and Feb. 21. A door was kicked in to gain entry into the home and the copper was cut from two hot water heaters.

*Susan Littleton reported the break-in of two outbuildings on her property in the 100 block of Falling Creek Church Road that took place between Monday and Tuesday. More than $29,000 in property was reported stolen. The doors to the building had been pried open to gain entry. The property taken from the buildings include Craftsman tools, two generators, seven WeedEaters, four yard edgers, a belt sander, four chain saws, 15 hand drills, two air compressors, Lincoln welders, a cutting torch with tanks and other items. Ms. Littleton told authorities she was preparing for an estate auction when the theft occurred.

Drugs at school

*A 14-year-old Spring Creek High School student was found in possession of less than one half ounce of marijuana on school grounds Monday. The student was referred to teen court and suspended from school.
