Jessica Lynn Garino
Missing person
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating Jessica Lynn Garino, 21, 1585 Old Grantham Road, who has been missing since Jan. 23 when she was last seen at home. She is described as a white female, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 150 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. According to the Sheriff's Office, Ms. Garino was receiving methadone treatments at Carolina Treatment Center on Ash Street. Anyone with information should contact the Sheriff's Office at 731-1481, the 911 call center at 731-1493 or Crime Stoppers at 735-2255.
Man shot at
Derrick Jermaine Moore, 29, Aycock Street, told Goldsboro police that a man he knows pointed and fired a gun at him while he was standing in his front yard. Moore was not struck by the bullet and police advised him to secure a warrant.
Copper thefts
Police are investigating two recent copper thefts.
*David Johnson, 64, of Clayton, told police that someone had done $1,000 in damages to copper piping at a house he owns in Goldsboro. Another $315 in copper tubing was stolen and $100 in damages done to a window.
*Bradley Mustipher, 30, of Pikeville, reported the theft of $2,000 worth of copper from under his house.
Man assaulted
Police said that Rock Taylor, 53, of Carver Drive, was found by police on the ground and unresponsive in the 100 block of Olivia Lane. Officers said there were visible injuries to Taylor's face mouth. Taylor was taken to the emergency room at Wayne Memorial Hospital by county emergency medical personnel.
Fradulent checks cashed
Natalie Faison, 33, N.C. 111 South, told Goldsboro police that someone had fraudulently cashed two checks in her name in the amounts of $398.24 and $394.54.
Thefts
*Andrea Michelle Lassiter, 29, Slaughter Street, reported to Goldsboro police the theft of her wallet and contents, valued at $120, and $1,040 in cash from her home.
*Officials at the Walmart on U.S. 70 reported to Goldsboro police that between Jan., 9 and Feb. 8 that a man had used receipts to obtain $2,00.20 in refunds without returning the merchandise.
*Jamilya Potier, 25, Poplar Street, told Goldsboro police that a person she knows used her pre-paid debit card to make $834.49 in charges.
