Ten to compete for Miss Spring Creek on Saturday

Ten contestants will vie for the title of Miss Spring Creek 2012 at the Paramount Theater Saturday night at 6 p.m.

The 10 contestants are:

* Grecia Aguirre, a 16-year-old junior and the daughter of Olinda Palacios and Saul Aguirre. She will perform a vocal solo to "Happy."

* Morgan Howell, a 16-year-old junior and the daughter of Jerry and Susie Howell. She will perform a jazz dance to "Walking on Sunshine."

* Amanda Rouse, is a senior and the daughter of Jackie Rouse and James Rouse. Her talent is jazz dance. The 17-year-old plans to attend Wayne Community College and major in nursing.

* Emily Daniel, will do a vocal solo to "The Rose." The 16-year-old junior is the daughter of Connie and Alston Daniel.

* Devon Raynor, plans to perform a jazz dance. The 17-year-old daughter of Bobbie Raynor Jr. and Debbie Raynor is a senior. She plans to attend Pitt Community College and pursue a career as a midwife.

* Elizabeth Evernham, a senior, plans to attend East Carolina University and major in music with a minor in science, and aspires to become an equine veterinarian. The daughter of James and Carolina Evernham will play the oboe as her talent.

* Sarah Kemp is a junior. The 16-year-old daughter of Hart and Suzanne Kemp will sing "All Your Life."

* Mykayla Hines, is the daughter of Scott and Terry Hines. A 17-year-old junior, will sing, "X's and O's."

* Lolita Carreno, a senior, will sing "Inside Your Heaven." The 18-year-old daughter of Romauldo and Minerva Carreno plans to attend WCC before transferring to ECU to major in theater arts education.

* Sara Boltinhouse, will perform en pointe dance to "Tarantella." After graduation, the senior intends to pursue a degree in pharmacy. Her parents are Lester and Beverly Boltinhouse.

Scholarship awards will be presented to the top three contestants. The winner will receive a $2,000 scholarship to the college of her choice, as well as a $2,500 in-kind scholarship to Mount Olive College. First runner-up will receive a $750 scholarship and $2,000 in-kind scholarship to MOC, and the second runner-up will be awarded a $500 scholarship and a $1,500 in-kind scholarship to MOC.
