Bullets hit home
Demarko Briggs reported that an unknown suspect fired a gun into his home in the 600 block of Isler Street early Wednesday morning. The damaged property included a window and a $1,000 TV. A bullet was discovered from his TV stand.
Investigations
*Brenda Brady reported the theft of three Christmas wreaths and two lighted flower arrangements from her children's grave sites at Evergreen Cemetery that occurred between Monday and Tuesday. The value of the stolen items was listed at $210. Ms. Brady told deputies that this is the third time this has happened and that she wanted to offer a $1,000 reward for information on who is committing the larcenies.
*Nelson Parks reported the theft of a $15,000 chopper from his property in the 1800 block of Emmaus Church Road in Dudley. Parks arrived at his property to find two suspects with the chopper loaded on a flat bed truck. Wayne County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived and took the two suspects into custody. The men arrested were Joseph Lee Carter, 43, of 122 Erick Drive in Dudley and Anthony Carter, 17, of 303 Bladestone Drive in Pikeville. The property was returned to Parks.
*Erica Carlton reported a break-in at her home in the 600 block of East Holly Street that occurred between Tuesday and Wednesday. Entry was gained by breaking a window. The stolen items included $1,000 in jewelry and a $300 computer.
*Stacey Gamble reported a break-in at her home in the 900 block of Dorsey Street that occurred between Monday and Tuesday. A $1,200 TV was taken.
*James Best reported a break-in at his property in the 400 block of Olivia Lane between Monday and Tuesday. The stolen property included a stove, sink, copper piping and a $10,000 air conditioner. Entry was gained by breaking through the glass of a door.
*Jason Steed, of Danny Hood Realty, reported a break-in at a vacant home in the 600 block of Poplar Street that occurred between Oct. 26 and Dec. 9. Steed reported that a door had been forced open and $400 in drywall had been damaged and $400 in copper pipes had been stolen.
*Richard Ludeman reported the theft of a $400 TV from his home in the 900 block of Evergreen Avenue during a break-in that occurred between Monday and Tuesday. Entry was gained by kicking open a door.
*Samantha Seiler reported a break-in that occurred at her home in the 1300 block of South Harding Drive on Tuesday. A suspect(s) broke through a door to gain entry, then removed two TVs, three cameras and a DVD player. The total value of the stolen goods was more than $1,800.
*Paul Buday reported the theft of three a/c units from his home in the 100 block of Robert Avenue in Dudley. The theft occurred between Monday night and Tuesday morning. The value of the stolen property was listed at $500.
*Shirley Seiler reported the theft of air conditioner components and a kerosene heater from her business at 1905 N.C. 117 S., between Dec. 8 and Tuesday. The value of the stolen goods was reported at $1,200.
