Attempted robbery at eatery
Carlos Herrera reported that he was nearly robbed by an unknown suspect as he was taking trash out of Los Fogones, located at 209 S. Berkeley Blvd., around 7:30 p.m. Monday.
The suspect brandished a 9-mm firearm and demanded money. Herrera was able to shut the door of the restaurant and call police.
Storage unit break-in
Thomas Buie reported a break-in at a self storage unit in the 200 block of Old Grantham Road that occurred between Saturday and Monday. The suspect(s) cut a lock to gain entry into the unit. The stolen property included a window a/c unit, carpet cleaner, fishing rods and reels, guitar, chain saw and other items. The value of the stolen items was more than $1,500.
