Armed robbery
Down East Travel Center, located at 2600 U.S. 117 S., was robbed by a masked man around 4 a.m. Thursday. A clerk reported that a man wearing a ski mask and a jacket with a fur-lined hood approached the cash register where she was and said, "Psst ... psst." She said the man had something in his jacket that he pointed at her. She placed money from the register into a paper bag and gave it to him. The woman informed police that she smelled liquor and marijuana on the man.
Break-in
Albert Ezzell Jr. reported a break-in at his home in the 1500 block of Old Grantham Road on Thursday. Entry was gained by kicking open a side door. The stolen items include cash, jewelry and six rifles. The total value of the stolen property was more than $4,000.
