Break-ins reported
*Cindy Powell reported an invasion into her home in the 800 block of Tommy's Road on Thursday. She told Wayne County Sheriff's deputies that she was sleeping around the time someone entered her home and came into her bedroom. She said that she grabbed her pistol, pointed it at the intruder and pulled the trigger, but no round fired. The report continues that suspect grabbed the gun, called Ms. Powell an expletive and hit her in the head causing her to black out. When she awoke, she found that the back door had been kicked in and a 6 inch barrel revolver with a wooden handle, 55 inch flat-screen TV and DVD player had been stolen. The total value of the stolen items is more than $1,400.
*Gary Baker reported a break-in at his home in the 200 block of Princess Street on Thursday. A suspect(s) kicked open the back door to gain entry into the home and removed two flat-screen TVs and a Wii game console. The total value of the stolen and damaged property was more than $900.
*Toneri Faison reported the shed on his property in the 600 block of South Audubon Avenue Thursday was broken into by an unknown suspect(s). The stolen property included a $1000 flat-screen TV, a $400 Xbox, and $240 worth of video games.
Conversion claim
Kenneth Tate is claiming felony conversion on an auto mechanic. He told Wayne County sheriff's deputies he paid $2,675 to the mechanic to make a repair. When he went to pick up the vehicle it was not at the auto shop. Tate said that the suspect has promised to bring him the vehicle on several occasions, but has not produced the vehicle. He also stated that while recently at the auto shop he saw his tire and rims on another vehicle.
