Fire reports

The Goldsboro Fire Department responded to a total of 32 calls between Oct. 28 and Nov. 3.

In the seven-day period, the department's call log includes nine vehicle accidents, eight assists to Wayne County Emergency Medical Services and six false alarms.

The week's calls include a single structure fire at home located at 403 Creech St. on Oct. 28, minutes before midnight. The response time was reported at six minutes and 38 seconds.

When firefighters arrived, the home's occupants were outside. According to the incident report, firefighters entered the building to find a light film of smoke and a working fire behind a fuse box in the kitchen.

Firefighters put out the fire by using a fire extinguisher.

On Oct. 29, firefighters responded to a brush fire behind the football field of Greenwood Middle School around 7:30 a.m. All units were cleared by 9:30.
