Government offices closed for Veterans Day

Federal, state and some local government offices will be closed Friday in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. Banks and the post office will be closed as well.
Wayne County Public Schools will be closed while Wayne County government employees who are on the four-day wok schedule, and normally don't work on Fridays, will get the day off on Thursday, Dec. 29.
City halls in Goldsboro, Mount Olive and Eureka will be closed.
Sanitation services in Goldsboro that normally would be serviced on Friday will be serviced instead on Wednesday.
The closing will not affect garbage pickup in Mount Olive and Eureka.
Town halls in Pikeville, Walnut Creek and Fremont will remain open.
The Goldsboro Veterans Day parade is scheduled to begin Friday at 11 a.m. along Center Street. Vietnam veteran and Wayne County Commissioner Andy Anderson is grand marshal.
