Registered sex offender facing new charges

A registered sex offender has been charged by the Goldsboro police with the statutory rape of two 15-year-old girls.
Jeremy Patterson, 26, of Shady Nook Road, Dudley, was taken into custody by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office Monday.
Patterson was charged with two counts of statutory rape, statutory sex offense, indecent liberties with a child and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
In addition to the alleged sexual encounters, Patterson also provided alcohol to two juveniles, according to GPD reports.
Both victims were acquaintances of Patterson.
According to the police report, Patterson was a registered sex offender at the time of these allegations.
He was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $500,800 bond, which includes child support warrants.
According the state's Department of Correction, Patterson served a 12-month prison sentence for indecent liberties with a child from 2006 to 2007.
