Man, 35, charged with rape of child

A 35-year-old Dudley man has been charged by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl over the course of two years.
Gustavo Gaspar of Pecan Road has been charged with four counts of first-degree rape of a child, statutory rape and first-degree sexual offense with a child.
Investigators with the Sheriff's Office said Gaspar is a close relative of the child and that the two live in the same home.
Earlier this week, Wayne County Social Services contacted the Sheriff's Office to report the assault.
Officials with the Wayne County school system also were involved in contacting authorities.
According to reports, the sexual abuse started when the child was about 11 years old and has continued until the most recent incident that occurred this month.
A search warrant was conducted at the suspect's residence yesterday, and items were seized to corroborate the victim's statements.
Gaspar was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $1,000,000 secured bond.
