Copper, farm equipment taken
Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating the theft of copper and old farm equipment from the property of Ardeth L. Scott, 67, Tommy's Road.
An unknown number of rolls of copper wiring valued at $1,000 were taken. Another $300 in damages were done to outboard motor that the wiring was stripped from.
Scott said that old farm equipment valued at $3,000 was taken as well.
Juveniles caught after break-in
Goldsboro police were called to a residence on Pittman Street Thursday afternoon after a call concerning juveniles entering the house through a side door. Witnesses provided descriptions and the direction in which the youths had left.
Officers James Rodgers and Tyler McNeill found the juveniles, ages 12 and 13, on the 1200 block of Mimosa Street. They were taken into custody following an investigation and all of the property taken from the house was recovered.
The juveniles were taken to the police station and later released to their parents.
Police said that juvenile petitions will be filed.
Wheels, tires taken
Two car lots on U.S. 70 West at Princeton were robbed of wheels and tires.
Someone did $500 in damages to a chain link fence to gain entry to the Lee Inc. lot, said Michael McDonald, who works for the company. A $300 radio was taken from a car and a $2,500 set of 20-inch chrome wheels with tires were stolen. Damages totaled $300 to the car window.
William T. Gainey, 22, Memorial Church Road, Fremont, reported the theft of four 24-inch chrome wheels with tires from Gainey Auto Sales. The wheels were valued at $3,000.
Teacher cursed, hit with paper
Jane E. Johnson, 65, a teacher at Eastern Wayne High School, told deputies that a student cursed her and hit her on the head several times with paper. The teacher said the student told her that she and her mother would be back to "take care of her."
Thefts
*Vickie Renee Atkinson, 49, Wayne Memorial Drive, reported to Wayne County sheriff's deputies the theft of a $750 laptop computer. Damages totaled $300 to a garage door and $300 to a door leading from the garage into the house.
*Edward Herman Acorn Jr., 40, Clairmont Road, reported to Wayne County sheriff's deputies the theft of cash and several items from his home. Stolen were a laptop computer valued at $950, a bag valued at $25, a $250 Flip camera, $140 in cash and a piggy bank and cash valued at $150. Damages totaled $300 to a side door.
*Naomi Angera Williams, 67, East Chestnut Street, told Goldsboro police that two cars, valued at $2,000 and $1800 respectively had been taken from her yard.
*Marianne Cantey, 52, Warrick Circle, reported to Goldsboro police the theft of a $300 laptop computer, $100 touchpad and $50 in cash. Damages totaled $40 to a rear door window.
*Martinez Rilardo Reyes, 32, Durham Lake Road, Dudley, told Goldsboro police someone had taken speakers valued at $720 and a $300 amp from his car.
*Rodney Rene Gorantes, 46, Shelly Drive, reported to Goldsboro police the theft of a $1,000 laptop computer, $800 watch and $600 diamond ring.
*Betty Wiggins Williams, 63, Longleaf Avenue, told Goldsboro police officers someone had used her identify to open several fraudulent accounts in her name. She said that judgments had been entered against her and a lien placed on her property because of the fraud.
