A story in Sunday's News-Argus gave the wrong date for a visit to Wayne County by the Veterans Administration.

A news release received last week from the VA said the group would be here June 21. A corrected release received this week said they will be here July 21.

Veterans in the Goldsboro area can enroll in the VA health care system, receive health screenings and health information, and find out about various services available to them through the Veterans Health Administration from representatives of the Fayetteville VA Medical Center.

The center's Rural Health Team will be set up at the DAV Chapter 45, 112 N. Patrick St. in Goldsboro on Tuesday, July 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The team consists of nurses who will be conducting health education, a nurse educator who can provide materials and discuss such issues as diabetes management and tips on controlling hypertension and cholesterol levels, and pharmacists who can answer pharmacy related questions and review medications with individuals.

An eligibility and enrollment specialist will be on-hand to discuss VA health benefits and accept Veterans' enrollments on the spot.

Anybody who has served in the U.S. military is invited to attend this event.

Veterans are encouraged to bring a copy of their DD Form 214 (discharge paperwork) and last year's financial information to expedite enrollment in the system.

Also, they can bring a list of their medications if they would like to speak with the pharmacists about them.
