A fundraiser for a Clayton Marine who was severely wounded last week in Afghanistan will be held Saturday in Kenly.
Marine Corps Sgt. Mark Andrew Bradley was injured by an explosive device Friday. He is currently receiving treatment at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.
The Carolina Military Vehicle Preservation Association plans to hold a fundraiser for Sgt. Bradley's wife and mother, so that they can afford to travel overseas to be with him.
It will be held from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. at the CMVPA headquarters at 9773 Hawley Road in Kenly. Members of Bradley's family will be present and there will be free hot dogs and refreshments, organizers said.
Bradley is an avid motorcyclist, they said, and people are encouraged to ride their motorcycles to the event as a show of support.
For those who are unable to attend, donations may be sent to: CMVPA, c/0 Mark Andrew Bradley, P.O. Box 764, Clayton, NC 27528.
