Vehicles broken into during HS baseball game

Five vehicles were broken into while parked at Southern Wayne High School during an evening baseball game.

The vehicles were broken into between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. by the suspect or suspects breaking their windows, according to reports at the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.

The vehicles suffered $1,400 in damages, and more than $1,000 of property was listed as stolen.

The vehicles that were broken into were a 2000 Toyota 4-Runner, 2001 Chevy Tahoe, 2003 Chevy Tahoe, 2003 Chevy Suburban and a 2004 Ford Expedition.

Gasoline theft

Murphy's USA on N.C. 581 North has been the victim of gasoline theft three times between April 8 and April 15 by the same unknown, white male driving a teal in color Chevrolet Blazer, according to a police report.

The total value of stolen gas is listed as $154.61.

Unfortunately for the alleged thief, the vehicle's tag number is known by authorities.
