The Wayne County Public Schools will hold its annual Teacher Job Fair on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the gymnasium at Goldsboro High School.

Principals from across the district will be at the job fair to provide a list of openings at their individual schools and conduct on-site interviews.

Prospective teachers can visit and learn about the programs and job opportunities at the district's 31 schools. HR representatives will also be available to answer questions about licensure, salary, benefits and scheduling.

"Wayne County Public Schools has much to offer newly certified and veteran teachers," said Marvin McCoy, assistant superintendent for human resource services. "The annual job fair is a great way for attendees to meet the high caliber of staff they will work with as well as get a glimpse of the Wayne County area where they could one day teach. More importantly, qualified teachers with an interest or desire to work for our district may find a classroom opening that they can fill."

The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce will provide snacks and refreshments for attendees. Members of the Chamber of Commerce teacher recruitment/retention committee will also have representatives on hand to discuss the advantages of living and working in Wayne County.
