Booze It Lose It
On Friday, 37 law enforcement officers from the Goldsboro Police Department A Shift, B Shift, C Shift, Wayne County Sheriff's Office and the N.C. HIghway Patrol conducted a joint "Booze It Lose It" checkpoint at the intersection of Elm Street and U.S. 117. The combined effort produced issuing of 98 citations. This included nine being charged with DWI, eight seatbelt violations, 14 charges of driving while license revoked, 15 charges of no operator's license, three drug violations and 49 other motor vehicle and criminal violations.
One individual was arrested and charged with driving while license revoked, trafficking in cocaine, possession of 50 grams of crack cocaine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and three counts of resist, delay and obstruct a police officer, and charged with $126,500 secured bond.
Three handguns were also recovered during the traffic checkpoint.
