Man shoots intruder

According to a police report, a 62-year-old man shot another man in the stomach with a shotgun after he was assaulted at his own front door. The elderly man was choked by the man who came to his door around 3:40 a.m. Sunday. After the assault, the elderly man retrieved the shotgun from behind his door and fired at the unwelcome guest.

Jailer's car broken into

A state Department of Corrections employee filed a police report claiming that his vehicle was broken into Monday before 5:30 a.m. Missing from the correctional officer's vehicle was a duty belt, pepper spray canister and a pair of chain handcuffs.

Car shot at Teasers

A police report was filed claiming nearly $450 in damage to a vehicle between 3 and 4 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of Teasers on U.S. 117. A bullet is believed to have broken two windows of a vehicle.

4 iPads stolen

Four Apple iPads, valued over $3,000, were stolen from Walmart this weekend, according to a report. Two women approached a cashier with two grocery carts. The women requested that the cashier check out the iPads before the other merchandise. The first woman said she was leaving the store to get a food stamp card. When she left, she took the four iPads with her. Moments later the second woman told the cashier she was going to see what was taking the first woman so long. Neither of the women or the iPads returned to the store.
