KENLY -- A Johnston County teenager was killed Thursday in a single-car accident on Hinnant-Edgerton Road.
Christopher Hayden Peedin, 17, was killed Thursday shortly before 7 p.m. when the car he was driving ran off the road and hit a ditch, then a tree, according to the state Highway Patrol.
He was a senior at North Johnston High School and lived in Selma.
Patrol investigator Trooper D.J. Hare said Peedin's 1997 Toyota was traveling about 70 miles per hour at the time of the accident.
He was the second Johnston County teen to die in a highway crash in a week. Kyle Edward Kozlowski, 18, was killed last Friday in an accident near Clayton.
