Miss Johnston County now accepting contestants

The Miss Johnston County Scholarship Organization is accepting contestants for the 2011 Miss Johnston County Scholarship Pageant and the 2011 Johnston County's Outstanding Teen Pageants.
Both pageants will be held Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. at the Paul A. Johnston Auditorium at Johnston Community College.
The pageant is a Miss America preliminary to the Miss North Carolina Pageant. The Outstanding Teen pageants are America's Outstanding Teen preliminaries to North Carolina's Outstanding Teen.
Contestants will compete in evening gown, talent, physical fitness, and interview.
The 2011 Miss Johnston County will receive a $1,000 scholarship and will go on to compete for more scholarship money and the title of Miss North Carolina. Johnston County's Outstanding Teen will go on to compete for the title of North Carolina's Outstanding Teen.
Contestants for Miss Johnston County must be between the ages of 17-24 and a resident of or a student in Johnston, Wake, Harnett, Sampson, Wayne, Wilson, or Nash counties. Contestants for Johnston County's Outstanding Teen must be between the ages of 13-17 and a resident of North Carolina.
