Robbery with a dangerous weapon
A Goldsboro man reported to Goldsboro police Jan. 10 that a man struck him in the face with a rock and stole his bicycle. The subject reported he suffered broken bones from the incident. The robbery occurred at the 300 block of North James Street around 1 p.m.
Break-ins & thefts
*Fernando Degollado, 34, Linen Lane reported to Wayne County Sheriff's deputies a break-in and theft at his home. Reported stolen were a cell phone valued at $150, a surround sound system valued at $150, a jewelry box valued at $20 and assorted jewelry valued at $300.
*Tina Faye Thompson, 40, Mill Creek Road, Princeton, told Wayne County Sheriff's deputies that someone had taken a .22 caliber handgun valued at $430 from her home.
Death investigation
The Goldsboro Police Department responded to a call at a vacant residence on Dakota Street, which is a vacant residence, and found Donald Ray Battle, 48, of Dudley, deceased in the backyard.
Members of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Goldsboro Police Department have began an investigation into Battle's death that is still ongoing.
Battle's remains have been sent to the Medical Examiners Office at Pitt Memorial Hospital. Anyone with information is asked to call Inv. Dwayne Bevell at 919-580-4218.
