A Seymour Johnson Air Force Base employee was stabbed in the chest Wednesday night in the Spence Avenue Walmart parking lot.
P. Cardale McDonald, 24, of Harding Drive reported to police that he was in the parking lot at Walmart on Spence Avenue around 8 p.m. when a stranger approached him.
The stranger pulled a knife and stabbed McDonald in the chest, the victim told police.
McDonald reportedly got into his vehicle and drove to his home. A friend then drove him to the hospital.
McDonald was admitted to Wayne Memorial Hospital and treated for severe lacerations, according to reports.
Goldsboro Police Department Sgt. Dwayne Dean said that the reported stabbing incident at the store was "very unusual and out of the ordinary."
He was reported in good condition at Wayne Memorial Hospital Thursday.
