Authorities say they do not believe a fire at Heroes Oyster Bar & Grill last week involves any foul play.
Firefighters had said after the Berkeley Boulevard restaurant caught fire last Thursday that its cause was going to be investigated.
The arson investigation division of the State Bureau of Investigation has ruled the cause as "undetermined, with the possibility of an electrical short," Goldsboro Fire Chief Gary Whaley said.
The SBI worked in conjunction with the Goldsboro Fire Department's fire investigation team on Dec. 10 to identify the cause of the structure fire at the corner of Ash Street and Berkeley Boulevard.
The cause is listed as undetermined because investigators were unable to pinpoint the wire where the fire may have originated, Whaley said.
An official with the fire department previously stated that the establishment's owner said no one was in the building when the fire began around 11:30 a.m.
Firefighters estimate the structure suffered $350,000 in damages from both fire and smoke damage.
