Mount Olive police have arrested two subjects in connection with a heroin drug seizure that took place last week.

Sam Donzell Wood, 48, of South Leslie Street in Goldsboro was arrested and charged with trafficking heroin, conspiracy and possession with intent to sell or deliver the drug, according to reports. He was held at the Wayne County jail under a $250,000 bond.

Shelley Renee Foster, 57, of South Alabama Avenue was also arrested in relation to the heroin bust and held under a $4,000 bond.

Mount Olive police received word ahead of time about a potential drug sale, Capt. Tommy Brown said.

"We got information there would be a transaction happening," he said.

Brown tracked the situation and police were able to make the arrests.

The heroin seizure was the town's largest as far as either Chief Ralph Schroeder or Maj. Brian Rhodes can remember. Mount Olive does not often see heroin trafficking, the officials said.

The subjects, who live in Goldsboro, were traveling to Mount Olive to sell the drugs, police said.

The 60 "bindles," or small packages, of the powdered drug were valued at about $1,800, officers reported.
