The Goldsboro Fire Department responded to a fire at 410 Stronach Ave. around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday.
The building is a unoccupied dwelling whose owner was in Philadelphia during the time of the incident, said Assistant Chief Frank Sasser.
While the home does contain a number of appliances, no electricity was connected to the house. There was also no lightning storms in the area Tuesday night that could have ignited a fire.
Neighbors reported seeing vagrants on the property, but not the day of the fire, Sasser said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, Sasser said.
