A residential fire on the 1400 block of Selah Church Road in Grantham has fire officials scratching their heads.
The Grantham Volunteer Fire Department and the Jordan's Chapel Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene around 5:45 a.m. Monday with three engines and two tankers, said Grantham Fire Chief Richard Proctor.
"The house was totally engulfed in flames upon our arrival," Proctor said.
Proctor said the cause of the fire at the unoccupied wood-frame house is currently listed as "undetermined, but suspicious in nature."
Proctor said the cause of the fire is suspicious because no electricity runs to the house and there was no lightning in the area at the time of the fire.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating fire.
