The Boys and Girls Club's most popular fundraiser, Pancake Day, will be held on Saturday at the Paley Unit on Royall Avenue.
In recent years, other efforts have been introduced that brought in more financial support for the club but since it was first introduced in November 1979, Pancake Day has been a big draw for the community.
The first year, it raised $3,500, executive director Mary Ann Dudley said.
Now in its 32nd year, the board has kept the price affordable -- $5 a plate.
Offering eat-in or take-out options, many opt to sit down and enjoy several helpings of the flapjacks and sausage breakfast from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Large orders will also be accommodated, Mrs. Dudley said. The only request is that such orders be placed by Friday so that preparations can be made to handle them.
Volunteers to help out with the event are also needed -- from helpers in the kitchen to maintaining the beverage area or keeping tables clean.
