Over the past month, the Tuscarora Council Boy Scouts of America have been holding their annual fall membership drive.
Scouters have visited all the Wayne County public schools and held recruitment nights during which more than 250 boys joined the Cub Scouts.
There will be one more opportunity this year for boys to join the Scouts. The Boy Scouts will have a booth at this year's Boo-It event in downtown Goldsboro on Oct. 29 from 4 until 6 pm.
At the event at Cornerstone Commons, the Scouts will have their a pinewood derby track set up for racing and will be giving out candy to all the trick or treaters.
To join the Scouts at this event will cost $5. A parent must fill out an application for their son. Any boy who joins at this event will receive a free Hot Wheels car.
For more information on joining the Boy Scouts, contact Mark Metzler at (919) 734-1714.
