Man shot early Saturday in city

Marcus Andre Griffin, 28, of Mulberry Street, died Saturday morning after being shot several times by unknown subjects, according to a Goldsboro Police Department report.
Griffin was shot near the intersection of Slocumb Street and Wayne Avenue. The incident occurred between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., according to the report.
Sgt. Chad Calloway of the Goldsboro Police Department said the odd time of day that the shooting occured should not be a concern for people living in the area.
"This incident should not cause people to be afraid," Calloway said. "This is an isolated event."
The Goldsboro Police Department is currently investigating the shooting.
