Council will meet tonight

Three public hearings are scheduled for a City Council meeting set to cover little else this evening.

The first involves a zoning request for property located on the east side of Oak Forest Road, between U.S. 70 and Gateway Drive -- owner Ted Ivey is attempting to have the land rezoned from shopping center to general business.

The second also involves a zoning issue. Landvest Development has asked the city to rezone a parcel located on the south side of Windsor Creek Parkway, between Wayne Memorial Drive and Wilshire Way, from office and institutional to residential.

And the final hearing on the docket -- another zoning issue -- will cover a request from Alleman Investments. The company has asked the council to consider a change in zoning for its property, located on the south side of Berkeley Boulevard, between Langston Drive and Ridgecrest Drive, from residential to office-residential.

Those who wish to address the board during the hearings are asked to arrive at historic City Hall -- the meeting will be held in the second-floor council chambers -- by 7 p.m.
