Wayne County Services on Aging is publishing a cookbook to raise money for scholarships for seniors to attend Wayne Community College classes at the Senior Center.
Organizers are hoping to collect recipes from as many different seniors as possible from around the county. Non-seniors can submit family favorites -- for example, their grandmother's recipe for chocolate cake or collards.
Every effort will be made to include all submitted recipes in the cookbook, which is scheduled to be on sale in December.
Recipes can be mailed to Wayne County Services on Aging, P.O. Box 227, Goldsboro, NC 27533. Or stop by the Senior Center to drop off your recipe at the front desk.
Deadline to submit a recipe is Aug. 31.
