Suspect in chase charged with robbery, vehicle theft, resisting

Xavier Crouell, 36, of Stafford, Va., was arrested by Goldsboro police after leading officers on a chase Thursday on U.S. 70. He had allegedly committed a robbery at gunpoint on Wayne Avenue.
The vehicle he was driving struck another and crashed. Despite a broken arm, he ran but was apprehended.
He is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, possession of a firearm by a felon, resisting an officer, fleeing arrest and hit and run.
Crouell also has outstanding warrants from Onslow County and is a fugitive from the state of Virginia. His bond was set at $243,000.
