Wallace escapee captured

ELIZABETHTOWN -- A work-release inmate who went missing from a poultry processing plant in Duplin County was captured Monday night in Elizabethtown.
Alcola Wright, 42, was convicted as a habitual felon for larceny, breaking into vehicles and property cheating. He was serving a minimum sentence of 13 years and 25 days.
Wright went missing around 7:30 a.m. Monday morning from the House of Raeford processing plant in Wallace. He was due to be released from prison on Aug. 10.
Police officers spotted Wright in downtown Elizabethtown and took him into custody without incident at about 6 p.m. Monday evening. Wright will face an escape charge.
Wright was assigned to New Hanover Correctional Center, a minimum security prison in Wilmington. He was returned to prison after his capture.
