A Goldsboro man was in good condition after he and a young acquaintance were shot in a vehicle on West Holly Street, and police have issued a warrant against an alleged attacker, authorities said.

A warrant had been issued for Cornelius Weeks, 22, of Goldsboro for the alleged shooting, police Sgt. Chad Calloway said.

The two victims, Jonathan Keys, 18, and Robin Monroe, 27, had been riding in a vehicle in the 400 block of West Holly Street when Weeks allegedly opened fire, authorities said.

Keys was flown by medical helicopter to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville, where he was last listed in good condition today, Calloway said.

Monroe was transported to Wayne Memorial Hos-pital, where he was treated and released.

The police spokesman said he did not know how the alleged attacker, Weeks, and the two shooting victims knew one another.

"(They're not) blood relation, or family relation. See, I'm not sure what the issue is, between these two groups. Obviously we can say they're acquaintances, but clearly they're not friends."

Calloway said he would not classify the attack as gang-related.
