Government offices closed Monday

Banks and local, state and national government offices, including post offices, will be closed Monday in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
Mount Olive will pay tribute to veterans Sunday at 3 p.m. near the flagpole at Maplewood Cemetery during the annual Memorial Day observance sponsored by Mount Olive VFW Post 9959.
The Wayne County Veterans and Patriots Coalition also will hold a Memorial Day service at 11 a.m. Monday at Wayne Community College.
Wayne and Duplin county offices will be closed as well as the counties' respective convenience site. The Wayne County landfill and convenience sites will be closed Monday and on Wednesday of that week as is their usual schedule.
Goldsboro City Hall also will be closed Monday and will reopen Tuesday and all sanitation services scheduled for Monday will be performed Wednesday.
Town halls in Mount Olive, Walnut Creek, Eureka, Pikeville, Fremont, Calypso and Faison will be closed.
In Mount Olive yard waste that is normally picked up on Monday will be pushed back a day.
In Fremont trash that is normally picked up on Monday will be picked up on Tuesday. Recycling in Fremont will still be picked up on Wednesday.
Waste Industries will operate on its regular schedule for Memorial Day. Customers are asked to place their carts out the night before their normal service day.
