Spring Creek sixth-graders Victoria Holland, left, and Amber Buchan learn how worms live in their natural environment during the eighth annual Earth Day event at Cliffs of the Neuse State Park Wednesday. The event was sponsored by the Wayne County 4-H Extension Service. Earth Day was founded by U.S. Sen. Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in on April 22, 1970.
