Scouts to honor Dr. Atkins

The Tuscarora Council of the Boy Scouts of America will be honoring Dr. James Atkins as its Citizen of the Year on May 4 at the Walnut Creek Country Club.
The event will be held at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets must be purchased by Monday.
Tickets are available for sale through the Tuscarora Council's office. Cost is $150 per individual or $250 per couple. Tables for eight are available for $1,000.
Event sponsorships are $3,500 for premium seating table of eight, distinctive dinner signage.
Dinner sponsors are $2,500 for choice seating table of eight.
Reception sponsors are $1,500 for a table of eight, distinctive reception signage.
Table sponsors are $1,000 for a table of 8, recognition in dinner program.
Couples are $250 and individuals are $150

Dr. Atkins works with Southeastern Medical Oncology Center and has been involved with cancer research for the past 20 years through the national clinical trials system. He is also a clinical associate professor at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
All proceeds from the event benefited the Tuscarora Council, which serves 8,000 youth and adult volunteers in Duplin, Johnston, Sampson and Wayne counties.
