A Goldsboro man was found shot to death in a city parking lot and two others were wounded after an early morning shooting Saturday.

Charles Ray Morgan II, 26, of Lincoln Drive, was found dead by Goldsboro police officers near the 1200 block of Day Circle around 4 a.m. and two others, Kevin Barksdale and Brian McLaurin, were transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment.

But Goldsboro police Sgt. Chad Calloway said McLaurin was later airlifted to Pitt Memorial Hospital, where, as of press time, he was listed in fair condition. Barksdale was treated and released.

Investigators are approaching this case as a homicide and worked most of the day Saturday pursuing leads.

No arrests have yet been made, but Calloway said the investigation would continue, and urged those who might have additional information about the incident to share it with Wayne County Crimestoppers at 735-2255.

"We worked all day today and we do have some leads," he said. "But obviously, at this point, we would welcome more calls."

Another city shooting was reported Friday evening by Decondros Mclean, who said he and another man, James Rhodes, were injured when two black males shot into his Walnut Street residence. An investigation into that incident is also ongoing.
