Trojans advance to conference championship

WILSON -- Following a masterful performance by pitcher Jackson Massey and plenty of run support, Mount Olive College advanced to the Conference Carolinas tournament Saturday, beating Belmont Abbey 15-1 at Fleming Stadium in Wilson. Coming into Saturday's contest thin on pitching, head coach Carl Lancaster said Massey's performance couldn't have come at a better time for the team, setting them up nicely for a final run at the championship. The Trojans will face Pfeiffer in the finals Sunday at noon, and need to win twice to capture the tournament title.
