Drug raid near park results in 3 arrests

Police seized nearly four ounces of powdered cocaine and at least five firearms in an investigation Tuesday that started in Herman Park and ended at a Park Avenue home, authorities said.
Herman Park, where two of the men allegedly had a handgun and about 60 grams of powder cocaine, is adjacent to Goldsboro High School.
In all, three men were arrested, according to a release issued by the Wayne-Goldsboro Drug Squad, a cooperative unit formed by Goldsboro and Wayne County drug officers.
Arrested at Herman Park were Miguel Gomez Solis, 18, of Gator Drive, and Sergio Maya Gaiton, 16, of Park Avenue.
Both were charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to sell or deliver with 1,000 feet of a school and maintaining a vehicle for cocaine. Both were also held under a $401,000 secured bond, police said.
Solis was also charged with carrying a concealed weapon for the handgun that authorities allegedly found on his person.
Jimmy Garza, 31, was arrested at 500 Park Ave., and charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, five counts of possessing a firearm by a convicted felon and maintaining a dwelling for cocaine, authorities said.
Bond for Garza was set at $75,000 secured.
Worth said this morning he preferred not to comment beyond the information on the press release.
