Twenty-three students from Rosewood Middle and Eastern Wayne Middle recently competed in the East Vocal Solo Music Performance Adjudication in Greenville.
Students learned a song chosen from classical repertoire and sang for a judge. The judge used the state evaluation form to grade them -- superior is the highest rating (90-100), followed by excellent (80-89), good (70-79), fair (60- 69) and poor (0-59).
Local participants earned superior and excellent ratings.
Superior rankings went to Ngozi Amaefule, Jake Newsome, Ashley Kedzierski, Mike Lewis, Kiara Lewis, Donald Sutton and Ann-Jerrica Artis, all from Eastern Wayne Middle; and to Cymberlin Sasser, Alexis Mitchell, Sara Lewis, Kaylie Chandler, Peri Wall, Alexander Brogden, Athena Patrick, Johnathan Keppler and Caleb Sasser, all from Rosewood Middle.
Excellent marks went to Sara Benton, Matt Mintz, Jessica Roux and Jessica Lee, all from Eastern Wayne; and Milton Atkinson, Brad Bailey and Keya Cox, all from Rosewood.
