Science fiction author John Kessel, a two-time winner of the Nebula Award, will deliver the "Goldsboro Rotary Club Kickoff Lecture," on Wednesday, beginning at 7 p.m. in Moffatt Auditorium at Wayne Community College.
The award is given each year by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, for the best science fiction/fantasy fiction published in the United States during the previous year.
Kessel will speak on "Fahrenheit 451 and Ray Bradbury."
The lecture will be followed by a book signing and reception hosted by the WCC Read Between the Lines Book Club. Books will be available for purchase (check or cash only).
The lecture was originally scheduled Feb. 1 but was postponed due to bad weather.
