Armed robbery

A Dudley man reported he was held up at gunpoint outside his home Sunday night, the suspect taking $560, according to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office report. Silvio Herrera of Odom Farm Drive said. The suspect, described as a black male, between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall, wearing dark overalls, fled in the direction of Genoa Road on foot, according to Deputy D.R. Craig's report, which was investigated by Detective Sgt. Rick Farfour, the report shows. Investigation into the matter continues, Farfour said.

First-degree burglary

A Gainey Drive man said his front door was kicked in while he was at home on Sunday night, according to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office report. Tony Garner, 54, reported about $250 in damages to his front door and wiring after the incident, around 9:50 p.m. on Sunday, authorities said. Garner said he was awoken by a banging noise and a white female was standing at his door, the report shows. Garner grabbed the female and told her that she was putting her life in danger by breaking into the home, authorities said. The girl ran, possibly to a nearby residence, but authorities could not get anyone to come to the door at that home, according to the report. Detective Sgt. Rick Farfour was informed of the incident, according to the report.

Man hit with round

A Juniper Street man visiting a friend at her Carver Drive home was shot in the back through a window on Saturday night, causing minor injury, Goldsboro police said. Robert Carmichael was inside the residence, in the 900 block of Carver Drive, and was hit by the bullet that also passed threw a window and a screen, causing around $200 in damages, police said. The home's owner, Mary Suggs, said a group of black males had approached her residence and asked for a name that could not be understood, according to the report. A few seconds after Ms. Suggs shut the door, the round was fired, according to the report.

Break-ins

*Tonya Barbour of U.S. 13 South reported nearly $3,000 in property from her home on Saturday evening, according to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office report. A door had been left unlocked at the home, and Ms. Barbour and her family found "ransacked" rooms, authorities said. Investigation into the breaking and entering and larceny continues, according to the Sheriff's Office report.

*Rebecca Stokes Darden of Becker Place, Dudley, reported about $1,500 in stolen property after someone forced open a front door at her home on Friday night, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office reported. Investigation is continuing, the report shows.

*Richard Gray of Guy Smith Road, LaGrange, reported a large-screen LCD television stolen from his home on Friday afternoon after someone apparently pried open his front door. The television was valued at an estimated $800. Investigation into the incident continues.
